Many young people are finding it hard to achieve in School and often exit the educational system without the necessary skills to progress in life. This means they are missing out on crucial education including the three main skills for life of numeracy, literacy and ICT which in turn leads to young people struggling to gain places in further education establishments and employment.
Through workshops and one-to-one mentoring that FST have provided, we too have identified the need that these young people have for further training in these subjects, however each young person has very different needs and therefore would benefit most from one-to-one tutoring.
Over recent months we have been forming relationships with qualified and experienced tutors who possess a desire to help these young people. The young people are matched with a suitable tutor and the sessions take place on a weekly basis at St Marks Church where FST are based.
If you are a young person who would like to know more about the tutoring offered or if you know of someone who may benefit from this help then please do contact us.

It is simply not enough to have qualifications to succeed in society: good personal, social and communication skills are also key to a person’s performance in any area of life.
Future Skills Training offers high quality Personal Development Training. Through activity and role-play based workshops we aim to improve the young people’s personal and social skills, including communication, relationship building, and employability skills.
We intend to develop the confidence of all the young people and improve their attitude towards both themselves and their community and society. This will greatly increase each individual's potential to have a much more positive and active role in their family and community life.
