About
Future Skills Training (FST) works closely with other organisations to provide a variety of effective projects for disadvantaged young people. FST obtained ‘Alternative Provider Status’ in 2011 and are in the Wandsworth Alternative Providers Directory.
Examples of these Collaborative Projects include:
Francis Barber (Pupil Referral Unit)
FST and Francis Barber have a long standing working partnership that continues to grow. The Learn2Live project is delivered with pupils from Francis Barber. The work delivered goes beyond the project, with young peoples’ wider needs being recognised with attempts to tackle them. In addition, FST liaise with all relevant professionals and parents to find the best methods to support individuals. Constant communication is a key feature of our approach, enabling us to maintain a high level of effectiveness.
Nightingale School – Community Learning Team
FST have been working with Nightingale school as the Community Learning Team since 2011. Our role is to offer both in-lesson and on school site one to one support with additional off-site work within the local community, with the overall aim for pupils to reintegrate into a full time timetable.
Garratt Park School – Mentoring and Tutoring
FST works closely with parents, teachers and relevant professionals to support the transition of non-engagement to full time attendance in education and the development of personal and social skills. A combination of one to one tutoring and mentoring is used to achieve this.
